Due to a cold wet spring these lovely flowers have struggled to pop open.
They are so pretty that it is well worth the long wait!

Definition Of A Mug Up

What on earth is a mug up? A mug up is a time honored Down East Yankee tradition. It isn't a full meal. It's more of a snack and usually involves a steaming mug of coffee or tea. As you drink your beverage, your mug will be in the up position. That's why it's called a 'mug up'.

Some of my fondest memories as a teenager revolve around mug ups I had with my Dad in the evenings. It gave us an opportunity to chat about what went on during the course of the day. Quite often, our conversation would turn to deeper issues like religion or politics. I am finding that, in our fast paced world, the mug up is falling by the way side. It's sad because families sorely need that kind of special time to bond, share and laugh together. I say bring back the mug up. Try one at your own house.
